Dear Wavelinc Subscribers,
There is currently a winter weather advisory with an anticipated ice storm coming through Ohio tonight. Freezing rain of .12 to .21 inches is expected. This may cause widespread power disruptions from downed power lines. There is also the chance that freezing rain can cause significant ice buildup on microwave antennas and client antennas.
Your Wavelinc service could be disrupted from these ice conditions building up on antennas causing signal degradation or power outages at towers due to downed power lines. Although we do have portable generators for possible power outages if the outages are widespread enough we may not have enough generators for all towers that may be without power.
We are hopeful that the freezing rain does not cause significant issues to our network but in the event it does some situations may require the ice to melt in order for service to be restored. Some service may come back online on its own after the ice melts if there are outages.
We will continue to monitor the incoming storm and address network issues as they arise.
-Sincerely,
Kurt F.
