🧭❤️ Bring Us a Real Problem. Our Students Will Help Solve It! 🖤
What happens when local businesses bring real-world challenges into the classroom? Bucyrus students get the chance to put their skills to work, collaborate with industry professionals, and create solutions that matter!
At the October 14 Crawford County Chamber of Commerce Manufacturing Breakfast, Superintendent Bob Britton shared how Bucyrus City Schools’ True North vision, Navigating Students to Career Success, is connecting classroom learning with real workforce needs.
Last year, 15 Advanced Manufacturing students partnered with local manufacturer Forge Fire & Company to develop a product that addressed an actual business need. Students experienced the full process, from research and design to prototyping, testing, revising and presenting a final solution. This year, the program has doubled in size, with 30 students enrolled! 👏
Now, Bucyrus City Schools is inviting more local businesses to get involved through its Problem of Practice program. Employers bring a real challenge, and students work to develop a solution while building teamwork, communication, problem-solving and career-ready skills. Businesses gain fresh perspectives and an opportunity to connect with future members of their workforce.
As Superintendent Britton shared, “Bring us a real problem, and we’ll plan the rest.”
