🌟❤️ Growing Toward Our Goals! 🖤

Students in Miss Cassady’s and Miss Stimmell’s homerooms took some time to think about what they want to accomplish this school year and set short-term goals to help guide their year. Their goals covered all kinds of areas, including academics, sports, character and even future careers! 📚🏀🎯

Then came the fun part! Students wrote their goals on paper stars, folded them up and placed them in water. As the stars opened and bloomed, students got to see a fun reminder that with the right care, effort and determination, their goals can grow, too. 🌟🌱

What a creative way to encourage our students to think about where they want to go and believe in what they can accomplish!

🍎❤️ Meet Mrs. Mercedes! 🖤

We’re excited to welcome Mrs. Mercedes to Bucyrus City Schools as a lunch server! After working as a substitute with the district off and on last year, she’s joining our team in a permanent role this year - and our students are already giving her plenty of reasons to smile.

What does she love most about her job? The students! Mrs. Mercedes enjoys seeing their smiles, hearing their excitement when they see her and especially watching their reaction when a favorite meal is on the menu. 🍕😊

Outside of school, she enjoys playing video games and learning new things. If she could swap jobs for a day, she’d choose Epic Games, where she’d love the opportunity to help create something for Fortnite! 🎮

Mrs. Mercedes is also a Bucyrus graduate, and one of her favorite memories is attending football games with her friends on the weekends. Today, she gets to be part of creating new experiences for the next generation of Redmen. ❤️🖤 She is also a proud mom of two children, ages 5 and 9.

Welcome to the Bucyrus team, Mrs. Mercedes! We’re so glad you’re here and can’t wait to see all the smiles you help bring to our students each day! 🎉

🥤🧠 Taking on a challenge together! ❤️🖤

Mrs. Heather Miller’s third grade class took on the Cup Stack Challenge! Students worked together to stack cups using only strings - no hands allowed! It wasn’t easy, and that was exactly the point.

Along the way, students practiced communication, active listening, problem-solving, patience, and perseverance. They discovered that challenges can be frustrating, but when we work together, adjust our plan, and keep trying, we can do hard things! 💪

What a great hands-on lesson in teamwork and perseverance! 📚👏

🦆❤️ Learning about ducks with some very special guests! 🖤

Our second and third grade students had a quacking good time this week as they learned all about ducks with a little help from two ducklings! 🐥

Students explored the duck life cycle and learned what ducks need to survive, bringing their learning to life with these adorable visitors. Hands-on experiences like this make learning fun, memorable, and meaningful!

A big thank you to Mrs. Christman for creating such a fun learning experience for our students! 📚🦆

🎨✨ A little watercolor magic in kindergarten! ❤️🖤

Our kindergarten students put their watercolor skills to work as they discovered how to make their very own “Magic Name” appear! What a fun way to explore creativity, practice new skills, and add a little bit of wonder to the school day. 🖌️🌈

We love seeing our youngest Redmen learn through hands-on experiences and discover the magic that can happen when they try something new!
