At the September 1 City Council Meeting, Mayor Lee Urbanovsky proudly recognized the City of Buda as a Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community, as designated by the Office of the Texas Governor's Texas Travel Department.

This designation recognizes Buda’s commitment to supporting tourism, strengthening the local economy, preserving the community’s character, and creating a welcoming experience for visitors.

The certification was pursued with the goal of aligning the designation with the completion of Buda’s Tourism Strategic Plan, which was presented to the Buda City Council on August 4, 2026. Together, the certification and strategic plan demonstrate the City’s continued commitment to cultivating tourism through its historic downtown, community events, outdoor recreation, cultural heritage, local businesses, and family-friendly atmosphere.

UPDATE, 9/2 at 12:40pm:

Stagecoach Park and Dog Park will remain closed until Friday at 5pm. The park will re-open Friday evening and will remain open until Sept. 21 for an additional closure related to the effluent force main project. As always, we appreciate your patience.

UPDATE, 8/27 at 4:20pm:

After further consideration, we have decided to close Stagecoach Park and Dog Park for the next week to ensure the safety of all patrons. Starting on Friday, Aug. 28, the park will be fully closed to the public.

We will provide an update as soon as we have more information and the specific date we can re-open the park.

We sincerely apologize for any confusion and appreciate your understanding as we evaluate changing conditions.

🚧 Historic Stagecoach Park and Dog Park Parking Impacts 🚧

Heads up if you’re visiting Historic Stagecoach Park or the Dog Park, located at 880 Main St. Construction related to the Sunfield Effluent Force Main Project will impact parking over the next month.

Beginning Thursday, Aug. 27:
• The main parking lot is closed.
• Expect rolling closures near Clint’s Cabin and the Stagecoach House/main entrance parking lots.
• The trails and Dog Park will remain open. 🐾

Please use caution near construction areas and keep dogs leashed whenever outside the Dog Park.

We appreciate your patience while this important infrastructure work continues.

Started my morning watching two of our City of Buda, TX - City Government’s finest departments, Buda Police Department and Buda Fire Department play flag football! Both teams did amazing and it was a close game but BPD pulled out the win! I was honored to be able to present the trophy and tell all players how much we appreciate them and for their service! We are so lucky to have such great officers and firefighters in our Budaful town! Our Capital area food bank collected can goods, which was fabulous! Another highlight of my day was to be able to sit by Judge Sandra Bryant and Ray! We had a great time!

Historic Stagecoach Park, including the dog park, will be closed to the public from Wed., July 1 through Sat., July 4 in preparation for the Red, White & Buda fireworks show. Fireworks will be visible from the Red, White, & Buda festival beginning at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Sat., July 4.
