Did you know that Hunger Action Month starts next Tuesday, September 1st!

Join Giving Children Hope for Hunger Action Month and help make a difference in our local community. Here are some ways you can take action this month:

Host a physical food drive and collect nonperishable goods for our "We've Got Your Back" program that ensures local children and families have access to nutritious meals when school meal programs aren't available.

Can't host a physical food drive? Host a virtual one by picking a fundraising goal or donate individually! Create your own fundraising page and invite your friends, family, coworkers, and your community to help support your goal!

Today we would like to highlight one of our amazing and hardworking volunteers, Alondra! 💚

Alondra has been volunteering at Giving Children Hope for a couple of years now, volunteering in both our Tuesday and Friday Volunteer opportunities. She discovered GCH through her job as a volunteering opportunity and continued to support GCH as a part of her graduation project for her final year of school!

"I like the people, the event coordinators have been super helpful, the communication has been really easy. Everyone is really friendly and welcoming. I meet new people like every week that I come, and I learn something new about them. It feels nice just being able to help out."

If you didn’t know, now you know! Hunger Action Month starts this September 1st! 🍊

Hunger Action Month is a nationwide movement dedicated to raising awareness about hunger in efforts to inspire the community to take action and join the fight against hunger!

Some ways to take action this month with us here at Giving Children Hope is to host a physical food drive. GCH can provide resources and guidance to help guide you through your food drive to make it as easy and impactful as possible!

Host a virtual food drive another way to take action this month! By hosting a virtual food drive you can make an impact from anywhere. If you can’t collect the physical food, you can create your own online fundraiser and invite friends, family, colleagues, and your community to participate in your goal. The funds raised by the virtual food helps support GCH purchase the food items our local families need most!

A fresh coat of paint, a stronger space for serving, and an incredible team behind it all. 🎨❤️

Thank you to Elevation Church for helping us bring our Building B Painting Project to life! You showed up ready to roll up your sleeves, paint, clean, work hard, and get a little dirty - all to help create a more welcoming and functional space for the families we serve.

Along with this weekend's efforts, Elevation Church has been constant supporters - volunteering multiple times throughout the year, supporting our mission, wrapping gifts for Christmas, and so much more!

We’re so grateful for your generosity, your time, and your willingness to jump in and serve. Thank you for being ALL IN and helping us get the mission done! 🙌💪

Giving Children Hope invites you to help us make an impact on the community! 💚

On Fridays, we hold a food distribution on our very own campus. Cars and walk ups will line up to receive groceries that have been so graciously donated to us! We have two opportunities to volunteer on Fridays.

From 7:30 AM to 11 AM, we have positions open for our traffic duty volunteers. We use this position to help us keep track of how many families we helped during the day and to keep the flow of our operation organized. Volunteers on this team are responsible for numbering the cars waiting for us and releasing them when we require more cars.

From 8 AM to 12 PM, we have positions for our food distribution volunteers. From 8 to 8:30, you will listen to an orientation about our operation. From 8:30 to 9, you will help us with setting up before we receive cars. For those of you tasked with walking the food to the cars, you must be over 18.

Any volunteers under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult! We look forward to seeing you here!

Hardship affects many families across our community and around the world. Here at Giving Children Hope, our goal is to help families break out of the cycle of need and help guide them towards success and self-sustainability.

Our support and donations have helped families receive basic needs, food, clothing, and household necessities to underserved communities. It's our joy and mission to bring relief for these families and contribute to improving quality of life for those going through difficult times. 💚
