Marion/Schley County Extension is accepting applications for a part-time (defined by AmeriCorps as half-time) AmeriCorps State member. AmeriCorps is a federally funded national service program modeled after the Peace Corps. This is a temporary, national service position, not a traditional employment position. A one-year commitment is required.
AmeriCorps State members provide 4-H positive youth development programming under the direction of the County Extension Agent. This is a direct service position that requires transport of youth and some night and weekend hours. Members also assist with program planning, development, and volunteer management. Other activities include required trainings, monthly reports, administration of surveys, and data entry.
This position is available September 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027. This is a part-time/half-time AmeriCorps member position. The member is required to log 900 hours of service (20 hours/week) by August 31, 2027, to successfully complete the term of service.
AmeriCorps members receive a variety of benefits: monthly living allowance ($1,037.50) and end-of-term education award ($3,697.50). To qualify for the education award, the member must complete the hour requirement. Other benefits are available based on eligibility (loan forbearance).
High School diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license required. Experience providing youth development programming and a general knowledge of 4-H is preferred.

Marion/Schley County Extension is accepting applications for a part-time AmeriCorps State member (ACM) to serve the local 4-H program. ACMs provide 4-H positive youth development programming. This is a temporary, national service position (not a traditional employment position) requiring a one-year commitment. It is a direct service position that requires transport of youth and some night and weekend hours. AmeriCorps members receive a variety of benefits: monthly living allowance ($1,037.50), education award ($3,697.50) upon successful completion of required hours (900 hours), and loan forbearance if eligible.
