Please join your community in celebrating the We Are Chaffee's Future Belonging Murals created by 13 intergenerational program participants and guided by 2 local artists. You can tour to all 5 mural celebrations or join us at your choice of murals throughout the day. See the murals, learn about the Belonging Program, meet the people who made the murals, hear from local leaders, and enjoy treats from local restaurants and ice cream shops.

Registration: Drop-in

Anyone under the age of 16 must be signed in by a parent. There must also be an adult present, who is responsible for the participant, for the entirety of the participant’s time at the gym. This adult does not have to be their parent.

This game mixes badminton, tennis, and ping pong skills creating a fun, active, low-impact sport for individuals of all ages and athletic backgrounds! No experience required.

Rockies Skills Challenge 2026

Date: Thursday, June 4th from 5:30pm-7:00pm (Registration at 5:00pm)

Ages: 6-13 (as of August 1, 2026: proposed date of the Rockies Skills Challenge State Competition)

Cost: FREE!

Location: Buena Vista High School Baseball Field
IMPORTANT NOTE: This event is Coed and is open to anyone who meets the age requirements. You don’t have to be playing Youth Baseball or Girls Softball this season to participate.

The Rockies Baseball and Softball Skills Challenge provides the youth of Colorado with a statewide baseball competition testing their skills in running, hitting and throwing. See how fast you can run the bases, how far you can hit, and how far you can throw. There are four age divisions: 6/7, 8/9, 10/11 and 12/13 for both boys and girls. The top scorer in each age group will advance to a Sectional Competition, with a chance to compete at the State Championship.

The BV Local Competition will be held Thursday, June 4th at the High School Baseball Field in the Buena Vista River Park. Registration will be from 5:00-5:30pm, and the Competition will begin at 5:30pm. The Competition typically lasts 1-2 hours, including awards, depending on the number of participants.

No metal spike shoes will be permitted. Only sneakers or plastic/rubber cleats. You are allowed to bring your own bat if you wish. All other equipment will be provided.

Participant’s age calculated as of August 1, 2026:
Age Group 6/7: August 2, 2018 to August 1, 2020
Age Group 8/9: August 2, 2016 to August 1, 2018
Age Group 10/11: August 2, 2014 to August 1, 2016
Age Group 12/13: August 2, 2012 to August 1, 2014
