Happening Today, August 31st, starting at 11am!

It's Care to Give Monday at the Resource Council of WNY, 347 East Ferry Street!

Thanks to our partnership with Trader Joe's, they are sharing their harvest of unsold but perfectly edible foods with us to distribute to the community!

🍓 Assorted Fruits and Veggies (everything!)
🍞 Delicious Breads, pastry and more!
🥗 Assorted food items from salads, cheeses, wraps, limited salmon, and more. Just come!

PLUS, it's the last day of National Wellness Month, so whether you're stopping by to pick up a few items from Trader's Joe's, or you're a senior enrolled in our frozen congregate meal program, you're leaving with a 24 count carton of Eggland's Best eggs, courtesy of our friends at Kreher's Family Farms!

As always, distribution is first come, first served and while supplies last. Every week is different and we're grateful! All those in need are welcome.

Yesterday, we hosted our first Resource Fair presented by the Ausome Care Foundation, and it was truly love in action! Connecting families with special needs and learning differences to resources, support and people who genuinely care, was community care at its finest!

Seeing our BPS Interim Superintendent, Ebony Prophet-Bullock, personally engaging with families the entire time spoke volumes about her leadership. And, to the founder behind it all, Chuki Naylor - we are so proud of your vision, your heart and commitment to our families!

We look forward to growing our partnership and learning more about how the Resource Council of WNY can better support our families with special needs children. We can and we will!

There were so many great things happening this week at the Resource Council of WNY, and a pre-season game was one of them!

Thank you to the Buffalo Bills for treating our HYPE youth, their families and staff to an amazing game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Not only did they get to enjoy the new Highmark stadium, (with food and drink included), but for many, it was their first game experience! It was a generous gift to help us conclude our Summer HYPE program. Goooo Bills!

Special Needs Families - This day is for YOU!

The Resource Council of WNY has partnered with the Ausome Care Foundation to host a Resource Fair to support families of special needs children!

Come connect, learn, and gain ACCESS to the resources your family deserves!

Providers will be on-hand with lots of information on resources that can support you, your child, and your household. Plus, the Ausome Care Foundation will have free book bags, and of course...the Resource Council will be distributing 24 count cartons of eggs to our Ausome families in attendance! Please share far and wide with any special need families - we'll see you tomorrow!

On the last day of our Summer HYPE program, our participants received their final certification in Social Media 101 with Buffalo's own, syndicated multimedia mogul, Adri V, The Go Getta!

Adriana's session included personal branding, profile management, social media etiquette, monetization tips and tricks, and the ethical side of social media and how to safeguard against scams and cyberbullying. Digital safety is first and foremost! Adriana, thank you for sharing your gift!

Overall, our HYPE youth received 5 certificates of completion in various disciplines, as part of our eight-week, paid workforce development program, while serving our community. A special thank you again to all of our sponsors and partners for making this happen for our HYPE program!

Happening Today, in recognition of National Wellness Month....in partnership with Kreher's!

We're distributing eggs! Not our delicious farm-fresh eggs, but Eggland's Best Eggs, rich in Vitamin D, E, B2, B12 and B5, plus 25% saturated fat and 125mg of Omega-3. Those eggs. 👀🥚

And, it won't be 12 eggs... it's a 24 count carton, all thanks to our good friends at Kreher Family Farms!

Our HYPE youth are learning that skills can become opportunities if you put in the work!

Over the past two days, our teens completed a comprehensive DJ 101 course led by our good friend, David Collins, of Urban M.I.C. After they created their own unique deejay names, they spent hours mixing tracks, curating music, and learning the technology and skill behind the art form.

This afternoon, our HYPE kids earned an Urban Mic Certificate of Completion, and walked away with a new skill they can continue developing into a marketable business at ANY age!

We're so proud of our young people for exploring new, creative ways to turn their natural talents into income! And, that's what HYPE is all about!
