So very proud of our Stroke team!

Congratulations to the Mercy Comprehensive Stroke Center Team for earning the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s (AHA/ASA) Get With The Guidelines®- Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for the 10th Year in a Row! Mercy Hospital was also presented the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus Award and the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll Award.

To top off National Stroke Awareness Month in May, an awards celebration was held today at the hospital to recognize the team for their commitment to quality care for our stroke patients.

During this year's Thankful Hearts Virtual Autumn Ball we will spotlight two other award recipients.
Dr. Stephen Downing is honored with our Dr. Thomas A. Raab Physician Champion Award. This award is given to a physician that goes above and beyond advocating for the Foundation and the positive impact it makes on the hospital. The award is named after the late Dr. Thomas A. Rabb, the first recipient of this award and a treasured member of the Mercy Hospital family.

The Scott R. Bieler Foundation is honored with the Community Partner Award. This award is given to those who make a positive impact in the community through their charitable efforts to Mercy Hospital. Scott Bieler and Kathy Lasher were instrumental in helping to create a space that redefined patient-centered care through our redesigned Emergency Center.
