Happy Labor Day! 🛠👷🏾‍♀️🏭

Today is about celebrating the workers and union leaders who secured the worker protections so many of us enjoy today.

From minimum wage laws to the 40-hour work week to workplace safety standards, their achievements have saved lives, raised living standards, and allowed countless Americans to lead balanced and fulfilling lives.

Let’s honor and thank the workers who fought for a fair deal, secured these rights, and built this country.

September is a time to have a difficult but necessary conversation – about su***de prevention.

Every year, nearly 50,000 Americans lose their lives at their own hand – each one a tragedy that could have been prevented.

National Su***de Prevention Awareness Month is about reaching those who are struggling and spreading a simple message: you are valued, you should not suffer in silence, and help is out there.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please consider the following resources:

📲 Call or text the 988 Su***de and Crisis Lifeline

📱 Call the 24-hour Crisis Hotline at 716-834-3131

Last night, we brought together food and beverage vendors, retail businesses, and entrepreneurs for the Hood Taste of Buffalo Permits & Inspections Meeting at the Northland Workforce Training Center!

This informational session was all about preparation, education, and opportunity—helping prospective vendors better understand permits, inspections, licensing requirements, and the steps needed to participate in the Hood Taste of Buffalo and other large community events.

We were proud to welcome key representatives from local agencies and organizations who shared their expertise, answered questions, and connected attendees with the resources they need to navigate the application and compliance process with confidence.

When we equip our small businesses with the right information and resources, we create more opportunities for them to showcase their talents, grow their businesses, and thrive right here in our community. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to our partners for helping make this conversation possible!
