Oh my what a day! š³. The afternoon started with grass fire north of Buffalo just before the wind hit. Thankfully there was rain with the wind and the fire was short lived but rather exciting before that. 100 mph wind before any moisture came - how did people stand the dirty 30ās? The dust and dirt blowing was overwhelming and hard to watch. Again, thankfully the rain came - with some hail - but it was hard enough and sufficient enough to lay most of the dust down even tho the wind didnāt give up too easily. The trees around town took a beating and everywhere you look there is a tree that lost some limbs. We even had a tree actually uprooted at the courthouse - I excepted limbs but did not even think about seeing tree roots sticking up in the air. Anyway, people are starting to clean up, fire trucks were returning to town and we get another fire call - vehicle fire that soon turned into a significant structure fire. This community is amazingā¦firemen from several departments have responded. EMTās are on standby at the fire ājust in caseā. The smoke is slowly going down but it will be a long night for some of these people. Be sure to thank these people - that is the only ārewardā they get for their community service. If you happen to see a tree branch in one of their yards - reward them and take a minute to help clean it up. We take care of each other and are all āfamilyā. How could anyone ask for more than that? You are all very special people - thank you for being Harding County proud š
