Greater Buffalo Counseling Center

Greater Buffalo Counseling Center GBCC offers low or no-cost peer counseling and support services to those in need. We are located in the University District of Buffalo, NY.

Since the early 1960's, GBCC has helped individuals in their time of need. Whether adjusting to a death of a loved one, dealing with unemployment, or just struggling with stressful times, the agency's peer counselors have always been there, lending a shoulder to cry on or a compassionate ear. Our staff provides a unique environment that is: Affordable: No co-pays or set fees. Individuals are asked to contribute what they can, if they can. Welcoming: Our diverse group of peer counselors do not speak in acronyms and jargon; they just provide individuals with the support and real-life tools they need to find the solutions they seek. Convenient: GBCC's location means it is close to almost any city/town in Erie County. The center's evening hours allow services to fit into any busy schedule. Effective: Past and current individuals have described GBCC's services as "wonderful," "amazing," "just what I needed," and "a real life saver." In fact, last year, almost 100% of the individuals we served were happy with the help the agency provided. *If interested in becoming a volunteer or board member contact us at (716) 833-5993.
