I was proud to be a speaker Day of The Girl Buffalo with Zandra Azariah Cunningham, CEO of Zandra, a natural bath and body product line 'made by a girl for girls everywhere.' is a one day expo, presented by Zandra Beauty, and led by Buffalo teen entrepreneur Zandra Cunningham for teen girls. It is considered ''The Ultimate Girl Power Day in the City of Buffalo." Zandra is a wonderful spokesperson and example of the talent of Buffalo youth nationwide.

Today the dome of City Hall will be lit red in solidarity of Lymphoma Awareness Day. Together, with other cities across the world, we will ‘Light Red for Lymphoma’ to increase awareness of lymphoma and other blood cancers. To learn more about Light it Red for Lymphoma visit lymphoma.org/lightitred.
The dome will also be lit red to represent the Buffalo Bills home opener and the NFL Thursday Night Football uniform color rush. I would like to wish the Bills the best of luck during the season.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
I toured several Buffalo Public Schools today along with Superintendent Cash, members of the school board and colleagues in government. Students, teachers and parents had a great first day of school. I look forward to hearing about the great accomplishments this school year will produce.

This summer, I partnered with BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York to present Summer City Fitness, featuring a variety of free fitness classes on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings in Perkins Park and MLK Jr. Park. There is still time to participate in the many free fitness classes through September 3rd. We hope to see you there!

Big news! These adorable African lion cubs have been named!
The three lion cubs were born on May 12th to parents Tiberius and Lusaka.
ROAR Logistics, Inc. has named the male cub, Roary.
Our lion keeper staff has named one of the female cubs, Asha.
And, the third cub was named by public vote and her name will be Amirah!
Welcome Roary, Asha and Amirah!

I joined Greenleaf Development CEO James Swiezy and SUNY Buffalo State College President Kathrine Conway-Turner for the groundbreaking ceremony of Greenleaf’s new $5 million mixed-use student housing complex, Campus Walk. Campus Walk is located across the street from the SUNY Buffalo State College campus and will house more than 300 students and include 5,000 square feet of retail space.

This program will target businesses most heavily impacted by the pandemic. Eligible businesses may receive a maximum of $10,000 and each business owner may apply for only one of their businesses. There are TWO opportunities for public participation!
Most importantly, on Wednesday you can contribute your experience, opinions, and perspectives from 5:30 – 7:30pm in Seneca One Tower. Your contributions will shape the priorities for the remaining days of the workshop. This is an important opportunity for people of all ages, abilities, and economic circumstances to communicate that equitable, accessible, affordable, and efficient mobility options are a priority for Buffalo residents.
On Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00pm, you can hear and comment on the recommendations developed over the course of the week in Seneca One Tower.
We hope you will share with your constituents, friends, and families and come out and participate!

BURA is seeking proposals which will use federal funds from the HOME Program to assist in the development of affordable housing projects in the City of Buffalo. HOME aka Housing Opportunities Made Equal projects enhance ongoing neighborhood revitalization efforts.
