I was delighted to announce the opening of the Mead Resource Center's doors to a wonderful new book club, Black Women Reads Book Club of WNY. Their passion for literature and impeccable organizational skills are truly captivating. It is with great pleasure that we join forces with them to support and contribute to the realization of their goals. The Black Women Reads Book Club of WNY has an inspiring mission to celebrate and uplift the voices of Black women authors. Their dedication to highlighting diverse literary works aligns perfectly with our own commitment to fostering inclusivity and promoting diverse narratives. We believe that through this partnership, we can create a vibrant and enriching literary community. In this month of June, we are thrilled to be a part of their journey by featuring the book "Their Eyes Were Watching God" written by the esteemed author Zora Neale Hurston. This powerful and influential novel has left an indelible mark on literature, exploring the themes of self-discovery, resilience, and the quest for identity. We encourage all book enthusiasts and avid readers to join us in celebrating this month's book selection and engage in meaningful discussions surrounding it. Together, we can delve into the depths of literature, exchange perspectives, and grow as a community that appreciates and cherishes the contributions of Black women authors. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Black Women Reads Book Club of WNY for their inspiring initiative and for allowing us to be a part of their journey. Their dedication and enthusiasm serve as an inspiration to us all. Let us embark on this literary adventure together and embrace the power of storytelling.
