The Garden Project of the Food Bank of WNY

The Garden Project of the Food Bank of WNY The Garden Project is a partnership between the Cornell Cooperative Extension's Master Gardeners Program, the Food Bank of Western New York, and Food For All.

Individuals of all ages, community organizations, garden enthusiasts, gardening and/or nutrition educators, youth leaders and anyone interested in learning more about gardening are invited to participate in The Garden Project. In conjunction with the Food Bank of Western New York, Food For All runs the Garden Project to work in pursuit of a more sustainable food system by empowering people to enga

ge in agricultural production. Garden participants consist of income-eligible families and community volunteers. Since its founding, the Garden Project has become a highly productive garden with a committed participant base. Our volunteer staff guides our gardeners through all aspects of food production, from composting and mulching to preparing and planting seeds, weeding, managing pests and diseases, and harvesting. Throughout the growing season, we hold nutrition and cooking lessons to educate gardeners about different ways to consume and preserve their garden-harvested produce.
