ATTENTION: Wednesday morning's commute (11/29/2023) in Northern Erie County and the Buffalo Metro area expected to have hazardous road conditions with heavy snow and strong winds. Snow rates may be up to one inch per hour. Plan extra travel time on Wednesday morning. Watch for snow plows and school buses.

Continuing heavy snow and strong winds will cause hazardous road conditions and reduce visibility in Southern Erie County tonight (Tuesday, 11/28/2023).

Watch for local weather updates. See www.erie.gov/winter for winter preparedness tips.

Please share this message with people who may not see or understand it.

4 PM Forecast Update, Part 2: Late tonight and Wednesday morning, winds will turn southwesterly. This will send weaker lake snows north across the Buffalo/Watertown areas. While snow amounts will be lighter, these will still be enough to adversely impact the morning commute.

11/28/2023

4 PM Forecast Update, Part 1: Through late tonight, west-northwesterly to westerly winds will direct multiple bands of lake effect snow across the Southern Tier and areas east/southeast of Lake Ontario, where lake effect snow warnings and winter weather advisories are in effect.

11/28/2023

BUFFALERT: The 1st measurable snowfall of the season for the City of Buffalo is expected Wednesday morning. 1-3 inches during AM commute. Motorists be prepared.

Tomorrow morning's commute will probably be slow as US National Weather Service Buffalo NY has informed our Erie County Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Services and Erie County Department of Public Works snow bands will pass across the Buffalo metro area then. While it won't be a lot of snow, it will be enough to slow traffic down.

Best to leave early tomorrow for work and drive slowly.
