The school buses are back and that means it’s time for all of us to pay a little more attention behind the wheel.

Today, AMR Western New York joined AAA Western and Central New York, local law enforcement and community partners to kick off the annual “School’s Open, Drive Carefully” campaign.

As students across Western New York return to the classroom, we’re reminding drivers to slow down, stay alert, allow extra travel time and use extra caution around school buses, bus stops, crosswalks and school zones. With new drivers also on the road, patience and awareness on our roads are more important than ever.

The annual “School’s Open, Drive Carefully” campaign has worked to reduce school-related pedestrian injuries and fatalities, a mission we’re all proud to support.

A special thank you to our local media for showing up today and helping us spread this important message across Western New York!

12 days at The Erie County Fair and countless conversations, as well as one lifesaving skill that everyone should know.

Throughout this year’s fair, the AMR Western New York teams were proud to join our friends at UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine to provide hands-only CPR demonstrations for fairgoers of all ages.

From adults to children, we loved seeing so many people stop by, get hands-on and learn how simple actions can make a lifesaving difference during a cardiac emergency. 🚨🚑

Since the gates opened, our crews have been busy helping fairgoers, answering calls and making sure support is there when needed most.

We're proud of our first responders who continue to show up and serve throughout the fair.

And after one especially long day, our friends at Hope Rises surprised our crews with chicken dinners. It was a much appreciated meal and thoughtful reminder of the community that supports those who serve it.

We're grateful to be here, keeping fairgoers safe and cared for all fair long! 🚑🎡
