The Sounds of Freedom Concert-- US Air Force's Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble

This Saturday, August 29th, at 7pm the US Air Force will be performing at the Sturges Park Bandshell for a free concert. While the City is not affiliated with the performance, we wanted to let the public know in case they were interested in attending.

The band will feature a variety of musical styles—from big band swing to patriotic selections and more—all performed by American Airmen. Any details can be directed to https://www.afbandtix.org/

**There are no vendors at the concert that we're aware of. Bring a blanket or chair.

Track Your Water Usage! 💦

With the new My Account Portal to access your utility billing account, you can conveniently track your home’s utility usage. The portal automatically shows your electric usage, but you will need the AMI water metering system to track water. If you haven’t switched out your meter yet, we’d be happy to do that for you at no cost!

A Buffalo Municipal Utilities water technician needs to replace the water meter at your home which requires access inside the home. An appointment needs to be scheduled with you, at your property, to swap the meter❗

📆You can schedule an appointment from the available dates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. It will last around 30 minutes, and an adult 18 years or older needs to be present.

School Construction Update

With school starting soon, we know many families will be traveling through the area around Parkside and Discovery Schools. Here’s what you need to know:

🚧2nd Avenue will reopen to traffic by the end of this week, once road signs and temporary striping are installed.

🚧 Discovery School parking lot: Access is available from 1st Avenue between 5th Street NE and 2nd Street NE. There will ALWAYS be at least one entrance open to the parking lot — regardless of the construction status. During student drop-off and pick-up times, two entrances will be open. At all other times, at least one entrance will remain open.

❗️Please slow down, follow posted signs, and use extra caution around the construction area as the contractor works to complete the project.

This Thursday is the last Concert in the Park of the season. It's been a great summer of talented bands for Concerts in the Park.

This week's band is the The Crown Jewels - A Tribute to Queen.

City Offices Closing Early – Wednesday, August 26

All City of Buffalo offices will close at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 26, for a City of Buffalo Employee Appreciation Picnic.

City offices will reopen at our normal hours on Thursday, August 27.
