Elmwood Historic District

Elmwood Historic District Your resource for learning about and benefiting from owning a historic building in the National Register-listed Elmwood Historic District in Buffalo, NY.

The Elmwood Historic District page and website is you resource and online community for learning about and benefiting from owning a historic building in the National Register-listed Elmwood Historic District (West) in the heart of the City of Buffalo. Certified historic buildings, like those in the National Register-listed Elmwood Historic District (West), are often eligible for specializ

ed funding and owners can claim tax credits for many maintenance and improvement costs. Other benefits of historic districts are creating a sense and pride of place among neighbors, branding a neighborhood specifically it’s historic commercial corridor, and creating economic opportunities for rehabilitation through tax credits and grants focused on historic buildings. This is a public service to the neighborhood maintained by Clinton Brown Company Architecture. We are a full-service historic preservation architecture firm specializing in applying for historic preservation tax credits. We have provided the professional preservation services to the Richmond Ashland National Register Historic District Initiative, a community group that sparked the creation of the Elmwood Historic District (West) through a grassroots process of public meetings, community fundraising/grant writing, and then engaging experts.
