Erie County Senior Services, in collaboration with community partners, offers the Going Places Transportation Program as a service to older adults (aged 60+).

Did you know that Compass House serves over 300 clients per year at our Resource Center? Our Resource Center is a safe place where young adults aged 14-24 can come for help. When they arrive, they will be assigned a case manager who will assist them with anything they may need, from finding a job and securing housing to learning financial skills and navigating legal issues. Whatever they need, we are here to help. Clients can visit us anytime between 9 am-5 pm on weekdays to get food, personal care items, clothing, or a bus pass. They can also stop by to do their laundry! Our Resource Center is located at 1451 Main St. in Buffalo, NY. Stop by and see how we can help!

Great job to Officer Cheatom, who again organized a wonderful team for Ride for Roswell! Thank you to her, Probation Supervisor Higgins, retired Supervisor Geier, Officer McPartland and their families and friends for riding, volunteering and helping the team to raise more than $7,000! 2024 Double Up Food Bucks NY Season Kicks Off on June 15th!
NYS has announced that the Double Up Food Bucks NY program is launching early this year, starting on June 15th, at farmers markets, farm stands and mobile markets! This program continues to provide a fantastic opportunity for SNAP shoppers to make healthier food choices more affordable.
Here's how it works:
1) Find the nearest farmers market, farm stand, or mobile market near you at https://doubleupnys.com/find-a-location
2) Contact the market or visit their website for the most up-to-date operating days/hours.
3) Visit the market and shop for fresh fruits and vegetables with your SNAP benefits and you will get a dollar-for-dollar match in Double Up Food Bucks, up to $20 per day, to spend on more fresh fruits and vegetables.
