Beginning this Wednesday, August 18, 2021, the Crane Branch Library will temporarily close due to intensified construction activity. Construction activity will be ramping up during this period including applying exterior brickwork and replacing the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system. As many of you already know, the old HVAC system has already been removed. Please know it is never an easy decision to close a library temporarily, and that all staff are working so hard to make this closure both easy and brief for our patrons.

Please check www.buffalolib.org for updates as to when the Crane library may be re-opening, as it is contingent on the progress of constriction and the weather.

Please check the bookmobile's schedule to see when it will be at Bidwell park here: https://www.buffalolib.org/locations-hours/bookmobile

And PLEASE visit many of our other WONDERFUL libraries. The Crane staff will be at the Isaías González-Soto branch library every Tuesday, an extension of their current hours. So if you miss us at Crane, stop in then and say hello!

Our drop boxes will be closed and holds will be rerouted.

Thank you all so much for your understanding. We at Crane proudly serve our wonderful community who are so passionate about their library.

Don’t have access to one of our libraries? We are where you are! Upcoming Schedule The Library on Wheels visits locations and events throughout Erie County.

08/07/2021

The Crane Library will be closing at 1 PM today due to AC being out and temperature. We will re-open *next week Saturday* August 14. Please see our prior post for more details!

08/07/2021

Due to the lack of air conditioning and the weather forecast next week, we have made the difficult decision of closing the Crane Library next week from Monday, August 9 to Friday, August 13.

2. Holds will be rerouted to Isaías González-Soto Branch Library. Please call the staff at (716) 882-1537 with any questions.
3. Library on Wheels bookmobile will be at Bidwell Parkway Monday & Wednesday, August 9 & 11 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
4. Isaías González-Soto Branch Library will have extended hours during our closure
Monday & Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

We've been getting a lot of calls regarding re-opening. To be clear, we will not be open to the public on 12/28 and we will still be doing curbside services. EVERY MONDAY we will receive word from the main library if we will be open to the public or still doing curbside on a weekly basis. Our hours of operation will not change and will stay what they are under curbside hours, regardless if we are open to the public or not. There will be new social distancing measures being taken and patrons are being asked to limit their visit to 2 hours. If you have any questions please let us know.

Library materials with due dates between 11/16/20 and 1/3/21 will be extended to Monday, January 4, 2021. Stay safe!
