Hi everyone! We hate to do this but due to the weather forecast we are going to have to postpone tonight’s showing of Spider-Man: into the Spider-Verse. This is admittedly a tough call based on the forecast but with lightning possible and the timing of a possible system right after we set up our equipment, we did not want to take any chances that would put our neighbors and equipment at risk. We will let you know when we reschedule the film.

Today's most frequently asked question...What's happening at the Grand Opening?? Here's our schedule!

I am so excited to welcome students from Kenmore East and Kenmore West for our musical performances. Fun fact? Their director is my former high school band director, Mr. Phil Aguglia!
.
Following the musical performances, local storyteller Lorna MacDonald Czarnota will join us at 3 pm.
.
Also note, masks are required inside the store and be mindful of social distancing while shopping!

I started my business a little over 5 years ago because I thought our city needed more fun Buffalo designs. I'm goofy and I love to laugh, and it makes me so happy when my products elicit the same reactions from my customers. I come up with new designs every week - most available in store only! Come check out my shop at 299 Parkside Ave, open Thurs-Sun.

Parkside Community Association

The Parkside Community Association (PCA), a 501c3 not-for-profit, is the largest membership-based community association in the City of Buffalo. Founded in 1963 to fight then-prevalent racist tactics of redlining and blockbusting, it has over the years successfully implemented programs that have contributed to the security and stability of the neighborhood. The PCA prides itself on the economic and ethnic diversity of the residents.

The PCA continually meets the challenges an older urban neighborhood presents. Some of the routine challenges include absentee landlords, zoning and code issues, infrastructure deterioration and cutbacks in city services. The organization is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, which is elected annually by a neighborhood membership of individuals, families, and business owners. Volunteers are the backbone of the organization. Eight or more standing and ad-hoc committees comprised of neighborhood volunteers regularly contribute an average 130 volunteer hours per month.

The PCA provides a number of regular services to the neighborhood. The association runs a summer arts program for children; publishes a neighborhood newsletter containing crime alerts, and other important public notices as necessary; provides information, referral and crime prevention services for neighborhood residents; assists block clubs; holds community meetings; and advocates for the betterment of our community. The PCA also helped to restore two vacant buildings along the major commercial boundaries and assisted some homeowners with property improvements through low-interest loans.

I spent about two hours today picking up trash on the block caps of Wallace to Parkside, both sides. Several people said “Thank you!” I’m not looking for attention, just the idea that it may inspire others to do this without a group or being asked. Im also hoping that those that saw me in the residence and businesses will, perhaps be inspired to pick up a piece of garbage when they see it. I got one of these online ($11.00) and it works great! 😂
