New York State has released the template for businesses to follow in preparing reopening plans. While we aren't yet in Phase 1 in WNY, no business may eventually reopen without a plan, which must be available for review by staff and patrons (if any).

It is best to start working on plans now and be ready for when we do reopen. The template can be found here:https://governor.ny.gov/sites/governor.ny.gov/files/atoms/files/NYS_BusinessReopeningSafetyPlanTemplate.pdf

Parkside Community Association

The Parkside Community Association (PCA), a 501c3 not-for-profit, is the largest membership-based community association in the City of Buffalo. Founded in 1963 to fight then-prevalent racist tactics of redlining and blockbusting, it has over the years successfully implemented programs that have contributed to the security and stability of the neighborhood. The PCA prides itself on the economic and ethnic diversity of the residents.

The PCA continually meets the challenges an older urban neighborhood presents. Some of the routine challenges include absentee landlords, zoning and code issues, infrastructure deterioration and cutbacks in city services. The organization is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, which is elected annually by a neighborhood membership of individuals, families, and business owners. Volunteers are the backbone of the organization. Eight or more standing and ad-hoc committees comprised of neighborhood volunteers regularly contribute an average 130 volunteer hours per month.

The PCA provides a number of regular services to the neighborhood. The association runs a summer arts program for children; publishes a neighborhood newsletter containing crime alerts, and other important public notices as necessary; provides information, referral and crime prevention services for neighborhood residents; assists block clubs; holds community meetings; and advocates for the betterment of our community. The PCA also helped to restore two vacant buildings along the major commercial boundaries and assisted some homeowners with property improvements through low-interest loans.

The PCA holds several special events that are open to the public. Most of these events are fundraisers with the added goal of bringing people into Parkside to see what an urban neighborhood has to offer.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Parkside Community Association is to advocate, communicate and act on behalf of the Parkside neighborhood to preserve and enhance the quality of life.

Vision Statement

The PCA serves as the voice of a diverse community and provides leadership to promote a safe, vibrant and historic neighborhood. By communicating residential concerns and encouraging business development, the PCA fosters revitalization, beautification and sustainability

Keys (house and car) found on Crescent near W. Oakwood.
From WNY Lost & Found Pets - Nicki messaged us this at 2:15 - reported to authorities. "I saw a small white and tan I’m assuming shi tzu mix dog running down Tacoma in north buffalo. I got out the car to see if it would come to me but it took off running down the block. It ran into a backyard so I’m hoping that’s it’s home, I didn’t want to go into someone’s back yard, and the gate was locked any way, he slipped thru a small hole in the fence, so in case anyone posts about a small dog on Tacoma."
Today is the Grand Opening of The Parkside Collective featuring Buffalo Seamery, Loose Moose and Christopher Scinta Photography at 299 Parkside Ave. I would love to meet everyone in the community! https://www.facebook.com/events/555674928352663/
Please help me find my lost cat Charlie. He jumped out a window around 8:00pm this evening and is missing. He's very friendly, not one to scratch or bite at all! Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to call 7162252822 if you see him or know someone who has! Thank you soooo much!
From Ashlee at WNY Lost & Found Pets: "Tan and white Husky with tags seen running on Hertel/Parkside. Couldnt get close enough to read her tags."
Lost a set of keys last evening on Robie Street, or in Delaware Park walking my dogs. If anyone finds a set of keys, please call/text me at (716) 465-5427. Just for ID purposes, they have a Buffalo Bill's key on it and "worlds greatest aunt" charm on it, amongst other items. I would be truly grateful for any help!! Thank you in advance.
Is there an upcoming parkside community association meeting?
My daughter just rode my bike over to Five Below on Elmwood and locked it up while she shopped. Someone smashed the lock, tossed the helmet in the dumpster and fled. If anyone sees anyone posting a metallic pink Schwinn bike for sale anywhere please let me know. Thanks!
Sure hope we can get those traffic calming measures extended down Parkside someday. Second lamppost downed by a speeding car right in front of our house in the last few weeks. So many accidents at this spot, so dangerous for our children 😡.
UPDATE: Sophie was reunited with her owners thanks to everyone for the shares!! I We found this dog a few minutes ago wondering in the middle of Linden and Parkside, it’s safe in our yard. We called 911 but if you know of anyone please alert them to inbox me for my address.
Come #PackThePews with us this Sunday at Saint Mark Roman Catholic Church to help #ProtectSacredPlaces!
Not sure where this cat was found in North Buffalo, but sharing from WNY Lost & Found Pets page. Message Roslyn Righetti.
