Even if we can't easily leave our homes, we can still celebrate Pride with this very easy heart paper chain craft.

You will need:

Color construction paper (red, yellow, orange, green, blue, violet)
Scissors
Tape
Glue

First, trace and cut out hearts on the construction paper. If you are working with a budding artist it can be done freehand, but many little ones will find it easier to have you draw and cut the first one, from which they can trace. :)

Then, arrange the hearts in order (red, yellow, orange, green, blue, violet) and glue the overlapping edges together. That's it!

Each chain will have a minimum of six hearts, but you can make them as short or long as you want. They could be taped in a window, on the wall- anywhere that makes you happy. I put mine on a lamp.

Take a picture and share below if you make this craft!

Annually, downtown Central Library has hosted a fantastic display featuring artwork from PreK- 12th grade BPS students; however the COVID-19 pandemic has prevented that from happening. Local author S.M. Traphagen reads Shel Silverstein's classic book "The Giving Tree."

The Giving Tree always inspired me; my whole life I've imagined trees can talk and have feelings. During a time when we need nature even more, and a way to connect with others--The Giving Tree is the perfect book! It was a childhood favorite, and still is!

Local author announces release of new novel. "Mollie's Follies" is about young, beautiful Mary Lynn Sharp, aka Mollie. Abandoned by family, this fifteen-year-old is on the run. Reviving from a two-week coma, Mollie's first thought is of the last conversation she overheard, where paramedics are discussing which Missouri hospital, Branson or Springfield, is best equipped to treat her horrific injures. A great summer read, "Mollie's Follies," provides fast-paced action, swift-changing story-lines, and thought-provoking perspectives. https://kdp.amazon.com/en_US/bookshelf https://www.amazon.com/author/bonnie.mill-lemke
