THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Fire Weather
Watch, which is in effect from late Wednesday morning through
Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS: Low Humidities and Strong Gusty Winds could cause
erratic fire behavior.

* AFFECTED AREA:
In Central WY Fire Zones...280...283...285...289...300.
In North Central WY Fire Zones...275...276...281...282...287.

* COUNTIES AFFECTED:
In Central WY...Fremont...Natrona.
In North Central WY...Big Horn...Hot Springs...Johnson...Park
Washakie.
In Southwest WY...Sweetwater.

* WIND: Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

* HUMIDITY: As low as 10 to 15 percent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS: While wind will not be as strong as on
Wednesday, elevated to near critical fire weather conditions will
be seen today across much of the same area.

Key Messages:

Snow increases in coverage and intensity tonight across the higher elevations of western/northwestern WY.

Gusty winds and snow squalls are forecast Thursday afternoon/evening for locations east of the Divide. The best chances for snow squalls looks to be across portions of Natrona and Johnson Counties.

A period of steady light to moderate snow will be possible over central WY Friday morning and gradually dissipate by the late morning hours.

Cold temperatures will follow behind the cold front bringing sub-freezing temperatures and a hard freeze for lower elevations Friday and Saturday mornings.

Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for portions of central WY including parts of Fremont, Natrona, and Johnson Counties.

* WHAT...Snow, wind, and cold expected. Total snow accumulations
between 1 and 3 inches with gusty north winds. Winds gusting
between 35 and 55 mph, with gusts of 60 mph possible. Expect
temperatures below 28 degrees Friday morning.

* WHERE...Northeast Johnson County and Southeast Johnson County.

* WHEN...From noon Thursday to 6 AM MDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on hazardous road conditions, including along I-25.
Gusty winds and snow will cause limited visibility. Vulnerable
outdoor equipment and vegetation could be impacted by freezing
temperatures.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow squalls are possible Thursday afternoon
and evening. If a snow squall does occur, expect instances of very
low visibilities. Temperatures will drop below 28 degrees by
Friday morning.

* WHEN...From 9 AM Thursday to 6 AM MDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult, especially over Powder River
Pass, on Thursday. Gusty winds will cause limited visibility.
