The King Urban Life Center, Inc. is a national historic landmark that provides educational, social and cultural programs to its underserved community.
King Center Programs The King Urban Life Center is a vital and dynamic community presence serving our community with programs that provide hope and inspiration to a group that has largely been forgotten. Always focusing on the needs of young children and their families, King Urban Life Center programs include the following: The Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP): A research-based, in-home, school readiness, early literacy program for families and toddlers. Technology Training for the Community: Since 2002, the King Urban Life Center has been offering Technology Training for the Community courses to children, young adults, families and seniors. There is an urgent need for computer literacy, and for participating members of this disadvantaged Buffalo community, these technology courses are their only opportunity to learn and master valuable computer skills that can have a significant impact on their daily lives. The program's partner is University at Buffalo’s Educational Opportunity Center (EOC). Saturday Royal Readers Program: A reading enrichment program that connects college students with community youth.; After School Music Programs: The King Center Chorus and The King Center Violinists; Summer youth activity programs.
