Congratulations to JERS Academic Coach, Muhammad Ahmad, on the publication of his article, From AI-Supported ESL Writing to Co-Researchers: Empowering Refugee Youth Through Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) in FLT Mag!

This important work highlights innovative approaches to language learning, youth leadership, and participatory research, demonstrating how refugee youth can move beyond being learners to becoming researchers, storytellers, and changemakers in their own communities.

We are proud to see the expertise and dedication of our staff contributing to the broader conversation on education, empowerment, and refugee integration. Congratulations on this well-deserved accomplishment!

Journey’s End Refugee Services extends our sincere gratitude to the Sisters of St. Francis for their generous donation to our Immigration and Legal Services program.
This meaningful gift will help expand the capacity of our legal team through additional staffing.
Their generosity will also support “Know Your Rights” and Emergency Family Preparedness presentations, help clients gather important documentation, and strengthen compassionate legal services for vulnerable members of our community.
We are deeply grateful for the Sisters’ commitment to justice, dignity, and welcome for all.

As we celebrate National Bike Month, Journey’s End Refugee Services extends a heartfelt thank you to Blue Hannon and the incredible volunteers of Wheels for Workers 716 for their continued support of our newest neighbors. 🚲

We had a great volunteer group from West Seneca East Senior High School helping around the Brewster Street Farm this week! Students mowed, pulled weeds, and built new garden beds for the Community Garden section of our farm. Thanks for the muscle!!

(They also made a new friend -- a DeKay's brown snake! Native to the Eastern US, these guys are small, totally harmless, and are fantastic natural pest control. This one was returned unharmed after its close-up.)

Journey’s End Refugee Services was honored to welcome a class from Harvard University to Buffalo as part of their project, Refugees in the Rust Belt, exploring how cities along the Erie Canal corridor are supporting refugee resettlement and community revitalization.

Our CEO, Pam Bos Kefi, later traveled to Harvard University to hear the students present their research and recommendations focused on housing, mobility, community development, and the long-term integration of refugee families in Western New York and beyond.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share Buffalo’s story as a welcoming community and to contribute to important conversations about the future of refugee resettlement in America.
