“Go outside your comfort zone and discover the world — it might just change your life!” ~Donna Brazile~
Hi all,
My name is Nerissa Williams and I am the Secretary and International Students Representative for Student Government. I am an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I am from a beautiful Caribbean island called Dominica and currently in my junior year. I enjoy reading, watching crime shows, and everything related to soccer! I am a library assistant, and a peer tutor in the academic Support Center. As an international student, I believe it is important to get involved which is why I am a member of several clubs on campus, including president of the Cultural Revelation club, and a member of Black Student Union, Student Activities Board, and Commuter Student Council. As the International Students Representative, one of my goals is to encourage more international students to get involved on campus and to help make their experience at Medaille more memorable.

My name is Trista Hilts and I’m Vice President of Student Government at Medaille. I am a junior and my major is psychology. I am also the secretary of Student Activities Board. My hobbies include hanging out with friends and family and working out. A fun fact about is that I’m from Arcade NY and I’m a fitness coach. One change I would like to make at Medaille is student involvement around campus.

For those of you who have not heard Medaille Student Government Association teamed up with the Medaille Club Hockey Team in order to host the first ever “Medaille Hockey Fights Cancer Night” on December 6th. This group of student decided that it was important to give back to those in need, and took action. Thanks to Bob Chyka, Matthew Pietrzak, Shyanne Ott , Trista Hilts and also the NCCC Men’s Club Hockey team we were able to donate $1,200 to the P.U.N.T. Foundation. Thank you to everyone who came out to show their support. We will continue to host this event annually every fall!

P.U.N.T Foundation’s mission is to impact as many pediatric patient’s families lives by taking away their financial burdens as much as possible while they are going through treatment. The money raised will help give things such as gas cards, groceries, household bills, etc. This allows for the families to focus on their first priorities which is their sick child.

We were very honored to have been chosen as the beneficiary of the Hockey Fights Cancer fundraiser of Medaille College as the Medaille College Mavericks took on NCCC tonight. This honor was especially meaningful to us because we were put forth by Shyanne Ott (center; below) who is President of the Medaille College Student Government, because of the impact we had on their family when her brother Johnny was fighting cancer.
Sincere thank you to all! 🏒 🎗 #FullCircle

To SGA: This morning I awoke to several texts and phone calls for our Medaille Community congratulating me in regard to receiving this marvelous award. After finding my glasses going to the website, I was overwhelmed, honored and humbled (and with many many tears). Thank You All.
