Rules are posted at www.lcyla.net

Be sure and read ALL THE RULES that apply to the show, but below are some specific changes to take note:

*Show moved up one week which impacted some of the validation dates as well. The show is set for March 27 - April 3, 2027

* Senior Awards replace the former LCYLS Scholarship program. Financial award opportunities will now include college/university, technical schools, and career/workforce pathways.

* Breeding Lamb & Goat Showmanship added. New showmanship competitions will follow the respective ewe and doe shows.

*Tuesday check-in schedule: Breeding & Market Swine check in from 9:00โ€“11:00 a.m., and Market Lambs & Goats check in from 5:00โ€“6:00 p.m.

*Premium Sale declaration deadline. Exhibitors qualifying two or more animals must declare in writing which animal they will sell within one hour of completing their final project. If they do not declare, the first project that qualified for the sale will automatically be entered. An exhibitor who qualifies with one project and is an alternate with another must sell the qualifying project; alternates cannot be declared instead.

*Steer sale numbers changed. The top 22 steers will sell, quality permitting.

*Steer re-weigh rule added. Only one re-weigh is allowed for a steer attempting to meet the minimum weight.

*Commercial Heifer sale numbers changed. A maximum of 25 pens will sell in the auction, quality permitting.

*Market Swine weight clarification. A market hog that does not make weight must be removed from the barn within one hour after the close of weigh-in.

*Market Swine showmanship clarification. The market animal declared at weigh-in must be used for Market Swine Showmanship; a breeding gilt cannot be substituted.

*Breeding Swine clarification. Breeding gilts not being shown in the market show must be removed from the barn by 6:00 p.m. on the day of the Breeding Show.

*Breeding Swine showmanship clarification. The breeding gilt declared at check-in must be used for Breeding Swine Showmanship; the exhibitor cannot use their market swine.

"Pop up" pick up opportunity will be tonight (Monday, June 29th) in Centerville at 5:30 pm in the Leon County Annex parking lot. I will be driving a tan F150 truck. Text me so I know if you are coming. I will only be available until around 6 pm, so a short window. After that, I can meet anyone in Normangee after 6 pm this week.

If not able to pick it up, you can email us proof of delivery and provide me with a correct address and we will mail your check. But we must verify mailing address. We do not want to have to process a bunch of checks lost in the mail. If you have add-ons, and have not picked up your check, we can mail those as well with address verification.
