As of Monday, May 20, the Lake DeSmet Intake Tunnel is shut down and all filling operations for Lake DeSmet are complete for the 2024 water year.

The current Lake DeSmet water level is at 4,612.50 ft.

The Lake DeSmet Advisory Board will meet Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, at 1:00 PM in the Commissioners' Chambers in the Old Courthouse at 76 N. Main St. in Buffalo.

As of Tuesday, April 9th, the Lake DeSmet Intake Tunnel is open and the lake is filling.

If you live alongside the Lake DeSmet shoreline, please be aware that the water level may increase rapidly during this time. For those with temporary boat docks, please hold off on installing your boat dock until the Intake Tunnel has been shut down and filling completed for the 2024 year.
