Great news in Buffalo! In partnership with Governor Kathy Hochul and Empire State Development, Solstice Advanced Materials has announced a $49 million expansion that will create NEW jobs and strengthen our local economy.

I was proud to join Empire State Development President and CEO Hope Knight and the Solstice team today to celebrate this investment in Buffalo and Erie County. These opportunities mean real careers for our neighbors and more reasons for young people to build their futures here at home.

Thank you to the Colden Fire Company and Bowmansville Volunteer Fire Association for donating two fire engines to our Erie County Fire Academy!

These engines will help our Erie County Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Services train firefighters while keeping local departments’ trucks available in their communities..

Public safety starts with making sure the people who respond when we need help have the tools and training to do their jobs. This donation supports that work.

I’m deeply saddened by the recent infant deaths in Western New York, where unsafe sleeping environments were found to have contributed to these heartbreaking losses. My heart goes out to the families grieving.

I want to share a reminder from the Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) to parents, grandparents and caregivers of the ABCs of safe sleep. Babies should sleep:

• Alone
• On their Back
• In a safe Crib
• In a Smoke-free home

Over 2,000 attendees from all across our country are here for the 57th Annual National Indian Education Association Convention and Trade Show, and it was an honor to welcome them to Buffalo and Erie County this morning!

Our region’s Indigenous history long predates the founding of Buffalo and Erie County, and I’m proud to celebrate the cultures and traditions that make Erie County such a special place to live.

It was a true honor to join the Rotary Club of Buffalo today to recognize Buffalo Police Department Officers Shree Siwakoti and Anna Meegan, who received the Unsung Hero and Service Above Self Awards for their outstanding service and commitment to our community.

As the daughter of an Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy, I have a deep appreciation for our law enforcement officers and the families who support them. These two officers show the difference that listening, building trust and helping neighbors can make.

Congratulations to both honorees, and thank you to the Rotary Club of Buffalo for celebrating their work!
