Overdose can happen to anyone.

Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember the lives lost to overdose and stand with families, friends, and communities who have been affected.

The good news is that overdose deaths can be prevented.

Naloxone is a lifesaving medication that can reverse an opioid overdose. It works quickly and can give someone a second chance while emergency help is on the way. Carrying naloxone and knowing how to use it can help reduce overdose deaths and save lives.

We encourage everyone to learn the signs of an overdose, carry naloxone when possible, and treat people affected by substance use with compassion and without judgment. Visit experience.arcgis.com/experience/faae7cdd199149a490b4d224884b8d4e/page/Substance-Use-Disorder-Resources for information on local Naloxone Access Points.

Thank you Main Street Family Services Family Resource Center Coordinator Shari, First Steps Nurse Mallory, and local family (Allison & daughters Natalie & Lydia)!
Shari & Mallory presented to the First Steps Joint Powers Board earlier this month to share their knowledge about Family Resource Centers, passion behind creating events like Fun with First Steps, and why collaboration is essential.
Allison then shared her experience being a part of the FRC Parent Advisory Board, First Steps home visiting program, and attending Fun with First Steps events regularly, “Being connected to home visiting and Mainstreet FRC has allowed me to not only survive, but THRIVE, as a parent.”
Watch our page for September Fun with First Steps information! We hope to see you there!

Family Home Visiting makes a real difference.
Families who participate see positive pregnancy, labor, and postpartum outcomes, stronger early literacy and school readiness, and increased confidence in navigating resources.
FHV also plays a vital role in child abuse prevention and supports families who choose to breastfeed.
This is the power of connection, education, and early support! Call 763-276-0441 to learn more!

In 2025, Wright County Health & Human Services (HHS) launched Wright AccessPoint, an online platform that helps residents quickly find local services and supports. The initiative was designed to improve access to community resources without requiring residents to visit the Government Center.
The innovation and impact of Wright AccessPoint were further recognized when the project received an Esri Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award, highlighting Wright County’s leadership in using technology to improve public service delivery. By reducing barriers to resource navigation and increasing access to services that influence the social determinants of health, Wright AccessPoint supports SHIP’s goals of advancing health equity and community well-being.
