Yesterday, our Caucus heard from Dr. Gale Burstein from Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) regarding the COVID-19 health risk to our community. While we currently have no confirmed cases, we advise following the guidelines established and publicized yesterday by County Executive Mark Poloncarz.
They include:
- practicing social distancing
- limiting large public gatherings
- staying home when you feel ill
- reporting suspicious symptoms to a medical professional

Today, we honored former Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams, Serving the Community for her service to Erie County government and wished her well in her future endeavor as the acting City of Buffalo Comptroller.

At today's annual reorganization meeting, Legislator Peter Savage was reelected Chair of the Erie County Legislature. Under Chairman Savage's leadership last year, the legislature passed several major pieces of legislation, including a ban on conversion therapy for minors, a tough new ethics bill and one of the strongest housing bills in the nation.
