Today the Ellicott Creek fire prevention team had the pleasure of spending the morning with the students at Butterfly Kisses Daycare. The students learned about Fire Safety, 9-1-1, and E.D.I.T.H. (Exit Drills in the Home). They also were able to see Firefighters Emily and Kevin in their fire gear so they know how we will look, sound, and feel in an emergency.

We mourn today for the loss of Monsignor Al Clody. Monsignor Clody was an Honorary Member of ECVFC and for many years attended our Installation Dinners and always had a kind word for anyone and would have a drink and just talk about the fire service. He would handle our Closing Prayer and always Install our Benevolent Officers. There would always be a great joke he would tell that would make most people blush. Monsignor Clody was also retired after spending 23 years as the Chaplain of the Buffalo Fire Dept. May he Rest In Peace and continue to watch over the Fire Service from above.
PSA!! We are always accepting new members, come check us out👩🏼‍🚒👨🏻‍🚒🚒🚨

Please join in for this important community event.
We were dispatched this afternoon at 14:26 hours for the report of a Structure Fire at 122 Winterbrook Dr along with our mutual aid partners Getzville Fire Company, Brighton Fire Company and North Bailey Fire as the FAST Team. Acting 9 (2nd Asst Chief Alicia May) was in Command of the incident. Shortly after arrival as crews were making entry to attack the fire it was determined the fire had advanced to involve the majority of the first and second floors and crews were ordered to evacuate and move to a defensive attack. Command placed North Bailey to work and requested a second FAST Team which brought Snyder Fire Co to the scene. Great job by all the firefighters on scene.
We mourn today for the loss of Past Chief Grant Pittorf who passed away on 2/6/22. May he Rest In Peace.
Last night Fire fighters John Mauer and Paul Krisk started the next steps in becoming certified rescue and recovery divers with our dive team. Their journey began with the commitment to become a volunteer fire fighter, and continued with their hard work and training in firefighting, dive tending, shore support, and boat operations. Our dive team is one of a variety of specialty operations Ellicott Creek fire fighters perform. We wish them well and know they will make us proud.
It all starts with becoming a member. Please reach out to us to learn more and begin your incredible journey into the fire service.

Congratulations Paramedic Doll!
Paramedic Doll received a commendation today for his actions at a house fire on January 15, 2022, on Ferndale Ave.
Paramedic Doll entered the smoke filled home and found a burning chair in the living area. At risk to himself, Paramedic Doll removed the burning chair and moved it outside. Paramedic Doll then reentered the home and with assistance, located the resident safely asleep in bed.
The Town of Tonawanda is fortunate to have professionals like Paramedic Doll.
Congratulations to Alex!
Today our Dive Team participated in a joint pool training session with Getzville VFD, City of Tonawanda PD and the Buffalo PD URT Teams. The purpose was to work on some basic dive skills that translate to tasks often needed during our calls and dive operations. Thank You Buffalo PD for hosting a great training experience.

A recap and some photos of calls the fire company responded to in 2020/2021.
The stuff you love to see!
Last night EllicottCreek Firefighters responded to an MVA on Niagara Falls Blvd. Fortunately, there were no injuries and a fire fighter and some good samaritans were on hand to extricate a child and keep driver calm until our crew could stabilize and extricate her. Great work by all!

[Amherst, NY] Every second counts when firefighters are responding to an emergency call. Please remember to clear an area around fire hydrants to assist first responders. If a fire hydrant is lost or buried in snow, firefighters can lose valuable time trying to locate it when they first arrive at a scene.
THERE IS A TRAVEL ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10:00 AM THIS MORNING - PLEASE AVOID UNNECESSARY TRAVEL & BE AWARE OF DEEP SNOW DRIFTS.
