Ste Nicolas, Sarreguemines, Lorraine where our 2nd Pastor, Rev.Alexander Pax, was baptized. Rev Pax was the builder of the second brick church, renamed St. Louis German Catholic Church in honor of the patron saint of our benefactor Louis Stephen LeCouteulx de Caumont.
Rev. Pax fled St.Louis Church with the Blessed Sacrament, in 1843, when threatened by parishioners. He returned to Sarreguemines where he died. Our parish was placed under interdict, which was lifted in 1844.
