Did you know Buffalo’s oldest home is located right here in Allentown? The Coit House, located on Virginia Street, was built in 1815, shortly after the village of Buffalo burned during the War of 1812. Originally located downtown on the corner of Swan and Pearl Sts., it was moved to its current location in 1867.
May is Preservation Month, and we celebrate the preservationists past, present, and future who work to ensure Buffalo’s architectural history is preserved and remembered.
