I was happy to join Marty Griffith, President and CEO of Bank on Buffalo, Brandye Merriweather, President of the Buffalo Urban Development Corporation - BUDC and others as BankOnBuffalo signed the lease for a new bank branch at 683 Northland. The bank will provide the surrounding neighborhood with additional financial services and to help strengthen the community.

Buffalo's entertainment district set for $8 million makeover

BUDC was happy to join Mayor Byron W. Brown to announce the start of construction of the Entertainment District Streetscape project. This project furthers our efforts to work toward a more vibrant and walkable downtown.

The improvement work will start Monday on Chippewa Street and will eventually include Franklin and Court streets.

Brandye Merriweather and Rebecca Gandour have been appointed as BUDC President and Executive Vice President. Ms. Merriweather and Ms. Gandour have excellent professional abilities and their promotions highlight my strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. These women will serve as key members of the City’s development team.

I was happy to announce today that Brandye Merriweather has been appointed President of the Buffalo Urban Development Corporation(BUDC). Since joining BUDC in 2013, Ms. Merriweather has worked closely with the City of Buffalo to increase development and job creation in our City. Brandye Merriweather becomes the first black woman to lead an economic development organization in Western New York.

Centennial Park waterfront work gets $1 million in federal funds

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has approved a grant for the conversion of Buffalo's LaSalle Park into the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park.
