Across the United States, overdose deaths have declined significantly over the past two years—a testament to the impact of harm reduction, expanded access to treatment, naloxone, and the dedication of communities working together, including here at Evergreen.

But our work is far from over. Drug overdose remains the leading cause of death for Americans ages 18–44, and every life lost is one too many. We believe that everyone deserves compassionate, judgment-free care.

Our services are designed to meet individuals wherever they are on their health journey, offering support through programs like syringe service programs, Naloxone training, counseling, and medication-assisted treatment.

Last week, CAS held our annual Backpack Giveaway, where we were able to provide our community with over 600 backpacks filled with supplies for the back-to-school season!

A big thank you to Gilead Sciences for supporting CAS and our annual Backpack Giveaway last Friday! 🎒

Thanks to Gilead’s generous support, over 600 backpacks were delivered to children and families in our community to ensure that local students have what they need to start the school year. Happy back-to-school season!

We had such an incredible afternoon with everyone last Friday. Thank you to everyone who attended & happy back-to-school season! 🎒

As families prepare to return to school, the focus is often on what the kids need for the year ahead. But on Friday, an event on Bailey Avenue focused on the needs of all household members.

Community Access Services held the event, handing out over 600 backpacks full of supplies. There were over a dozen vendors sharing resources, rapid HIV testing, pet supplies, food, haircuts, bounce houses, health information and more.
