This is beyond unacceptable - that the Governor can, with no public input or oversight, grant THIRTY YEARS of tax breaks to a wealthy developer is downright OFFENSIVE. Because of the tax levy, everyday Buffalonians like you & me will be footing the bill for this property instead.

New: The apartment building under construction on the site of the former Memorial Auditorium has received a 30-year property tax abatement from the Hochul administration.

The abatement was previously undisclosed. Days before it was granted, the developer donated to Hochul's campaign.

Whirlwind of a Friday and Saturday so far, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

On Friday, I was so glad to see familiar faces and make new connections at the Disability Pride Festival at Riverworks. Then, earlier today, I got to speak (and play a little Skee-Ball) at Legislator Taisha St. Jean-Tard’s District 2 Carnival, and take in the Myanmar Unity Festival.

WNY summers can’t be beat, thanks to the community members and leaders who work hard to make so many amazing events happen! My team and I thank you all for such a great weekend.

Due to persistent community pressure, NY Gov passed the first state-wide data center moratorium - and that's a big deal. Our communities are showing up to fight back against Big Tech and reckless data center buildout.

But there's still A LOT of work to be done. this data center pause applies to hyperscalers - data centers exceeding 50 megawatts. We still need to fight for strict regulation on data centers. And let's not forget that NY Gov Hochul just GUTTED the state's climate legislation.

That's why we elected these climate champions - they are committed to fighting for people over profit.
