Our Story

Friends of the Night People is a charitable organization that helps the poor, homeless and destitute in Buffalo, New York. We provide food, clothing, medical care, counseling and hope to those in need. Help us make a difference today by serving meals, contributing clothing or hygiene products, or making a donation. Because of you, help is available to those experiencing homelessness and

Did you know LGBTQ+ youth are more than twice as likely to experience homelessness as their peers, and up to 40% of young people experiencing homelessness identify as LGBTQ+? Many are forced from their homes or face rejection simply for being who they are. At Friends of Night People, we believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, regardless of who they are or whom they love.

Did you know that since 1994, FONP has hosted a medical clinic in partnership with ? It's been a great experience for guests and students alike.

One of those volunteers, Dr Brendan Fox, was inspired to create an AI lifeline, Community Resource Finder, to help clinicians connect patients with resources.

As a medical student at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, Brendan Fox often spends his evenings caring for vulnerable patients with Friends of Night People, a West side community hub, serving people experiencing homelessness and poverty.
