It was an honor to return to my alma mater, SUNY Buffalo State University, as the keynote speaker for the Department of Government, Planning, and Philosophy Award Ceremony and to be recognized with the PSC Alumnus of the Year Award.

What made the night even more meaningful was receiving the award from Dr. Anthony Neal, who was one of my professors during my time at Buffalo State. His classes challenged me to think differently, broaden my perspective, and better understand the world around me โ€” lessons that have stayed with me throughout my career in public service.

Twenty-one years after graduating, it meant a lot to come back and speak with the next generation of leaders about the importance of getting involved, staying engaged, and showing up for your community. Thank you to everyone who made last night so special

Happening tomorrow! Clean out your garage or basement and safely dispose of old paint and batteries at our free collection event at SUNY Erie Community College North Campus.

Proud to partner with Erie County and GreenSheen Paint to help keep reusable materials out of landfills and protect our environment.

Yesterday, I met with the Brooklyn Law School LGBTQ+ Advocacy Clinic and advocates supporting the RAISE Children Act to discuss protecting New York families.

After our conversation, I was proud to co-sponsor this legislation to help ensure every child and family has the legal protections and security they deserve.

Today in Albany, I stood with veterans, advocates, and my colleagues in support of legislation ensuring National Guard members who responded in the aftermath of 9/11 receive the recognition and support they earned through their service.

The impact of September 11 reached every corner of this country including Western New York. Many answered the call without hesitation, and for some, that service came with lasting consequences.

Grateful to and .opharrow for leading this effort and fighting to make sure these veterans are not left behind.

Last night in Albany, I joined my colleagues at the Senateโ€™s Women of Distinction ceremony, where 62 outstanding women from across New York were honored for their leadership, service, and impact in their communities.

I was proud to nominate Lisa M. Chimera, especially during Teacher Appreciation Week, in recognition of her 34 years in the Kenmore-Tonawanda School District. As a Special Education teacher and Curriculum Learning Specialist, she shaped the lives of countless students and mentored generations of educators. Her work advancing the co-teaching model continues to strengthen classrooms today.

Today, as Deputy County Executive, she brings that same dedication to public service, supporting mental health initiatives and families across Erie County through the lens of an educator and lifelong advocate.

Congratulations to Lisa, and to all 62 Women of Distinction honorees.

This morning I met with representatives from the Tourette Association of America, along with constituents who came to Albany to advocate for the Tourette Syndrome and Tic Disorder community.

Really appreciate everyone who took the time to be here and share their stories. These conversations matter, and Iโ€™m committed to making sure this community has the support it needs.

Join The Tool Library for a free Dare to Repair Cafe in Amherst.

Bring a broken item and work alongside volunteer fixers to repair it instead of throwing it away. Itโ€™s a great way to save money, learn new skills, and reduce waste.
