🚨 HOOK HAS DISAPPEARED AGAIN! 🚨

Our slippery little friend Hook has been on quite the adventure around Buhl! 🐟

He’s made several attempts to sneak into the ice cream machine at Buhl Arctic Circle — and apparently his persistence paid off because he managed to get himself completely covered in chocolate ice cream! 🍫🍦😂

After his sweet escape, Hook was spotted swimming out the drive-thru window and later made his way toward the Buhl Fire Station. Then… P**F! 💨🐟

Nobody knows where he went next!

👀🤔 Where could Hook be hiding now?

🧐 We have a feeling he may have heard there’s something a little less sticky than ICE CREAM on that side of town! 🍦🐟

So keep your eyes peeled and see if YOU can find Hook! 🔍🐟

Hook has been spotted a few times swimming around the Buhl Library, where he mostly stayed hidden. His last sighting was when he was spotted swimming past the Fire Station, heading back toward the Chamber!

🎉 Big Things Are Brewing for the 2026 Holiday Season! 🎉

The Buhl Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that West End Wrap Up is partnering with us to bring even more fun, family-friendly events to our community!

We've been working behind the scenes for the past couple of months planning a holiday season that celebrates everything we love about Buhl. These plans are not set in stone, and we'd love your thoughts and ideas as we continue putting everything together.

🍂 OCTOBER
🎃 Harvest Festival – October 16–17 at Eastman Park
• Vendors
• Dutch Oven Cook-Off
• Smoker Cook-Off
• Family fun and entertainment

🍬 Main Street Trick-or-Treat & Trunk-or-Treat – October 31 | 4:00–6:00 PM
• Main Street (Broadway Ave) businesses handing out treats
• Trunk-or-Treat at the Chamber for businesses and organizations located off Main Street (Broadway Ave)
• Best Fall Decorated Business Contest
• We're also thinking about adding a costume contest! Should businesses vote for their favorite child costume, or should the children vote for their favorite employee costume? Tell us what you'd prefer!

👻 Ghost Tours – October 31 at the Senior Center

🍁 NOVEMBER
🛍️ Business Passport begins November 1

Thank You Event for our active Military, veterans and first responders (Tentatively November 19 or 20) at the Buhl High School

The Buhl Chamber needs your help. ❤️🎄

This is a difficult post to write.

We have been hard at work planning this year's Christmas Light Parade because we know how much this tradition means to our community. Unfortunately, new Idaho state highway requirements have put us in a very challenging position.

For many years, our Police Department, Fire Department, and dedicated volunteers have safely helped close the highways during the parade. They have once again stepped up and offered their support, and we are incredibly grateful.

However, under the new state requirements, highway closures lasting longer than 20 minutes now require professional flaggers. While we understand the importance of safety, this also comes with a significant cost.

The Buhl Chamber is a nonprofit organization, and we simply don't have the budget to absorb another major expense. We're already paying more than $3,000 for the insurance required to hold the parade. The City of Buhl generously covered the $3,500 cost of professional flaggers during Sagebrush Days, but neither the City nor the Chamber can continue taking on these unexpected expenses for every community event.

Even with charging entry fees for the Sagebrush Days parade participants, those fees don't come close to covering the cost of putting on the parade. In fact, they don't even cover half the cost.

So we're turning to our community and asking for your thoughts.

What should we do?
🎄 Charge parade entry fees?
🎄 Limit the parade to just 20 floats so the highway can reopen more quickly?
🎄 Find a business, organization, or individual willing to sponsor the professional flaggers and help keep this tradition alive?
🎄 Or do we face the heartbreaking possibility of canceling the Christmas Light Parade altogether?

All of these options are ones we want to consider, but we also have to be realistic about what is financially possible.

We're asking for your ideas, your feedback, and, if you're able, your support. If you know of a business or individual who may be interested in sponsoring the professional flaggers, or if you have another solution we haven't considered, we'd love to hear from you.

The Christmas Light Parade belongs to this community. Together, we're hopeful we can find a way to keep this beloved tradition shining brightly for years to come.

🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨

We received a call from one of our Chamber members who had gotten an email from someone claiming to be "Alan Jackson" with the Buhl Chamber of Commerce. The email was asking for information and offering membership upgrades.

Please be aware:
❌ We do not have a country music star serving on our Board of Directors!

If you receive an email that appears to be from the Buhl Chamber of Commerce but seems unusual or suspicious, please don't respond right away. Give us a call first so we can verify whether it's legitimate.
