🚒 Sipsey Valley Volunteer Fire Department Needs a Few Helping Hands! 🚒
We're looking for a few volunteers to lend a hand tomorrow evening at 6:00 PM as we install a new bumper and winch on Truck 431.
If you've got a little time and don't mind getting your hands dirty, we'd appreciate the extra help. Every helping hand makes a difference!

Tree down Hwy 82 WB just passed Echola road before Lee Bonner road.

Road is now clear. Thanks to the firefighters for the removal! Thanks to the concerned citizen for calling it in.

On Friday June 12 Sipsey Valley Fire Dept responded to a wreck with minor injuries just east of Echola rd in the westbound lane of hwy 82. We responded with our brush truck, service truck and a pumper along with 5 firefighters. We arrived on scene to find a 2 car wreck with minor injuries. Pumper 401 was positioned as a blocker to protect firefighters working the accident. Twenty seven minutes after the first call 401 was struck from behind by a 2006 Ford Focus. This vehicle narrowly missed a firefighter who was directing traffic. The driver of the car was partilally ejected from his vehicle. SVVFD personel began administering first aid and requsted additional resources and a medavac helocopter. SVVFD along with medics from Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office and NorthStar EMS-Alabama extricated the driver. TCSO and SVVFD personel set up a landing zone for the Helocopter at Corinth church where we transfered the patient to Air Evac. He was transported to UAB. Pumper 401 sustained moderate damage to the right rear side and had to be placed out of service. As we were finishing clearing up these 2 wrecks we were dispachted to a third wreck involving 2 motorcycles and a car near Springer rd.
