These students went above and beyond in showing their teacher, classmates, and school kindness!

Now accepting applications for TCSS U 2026-2027

Each year, the Tuscaloosa County School System is proud to host TCSS University (TCSS U), a program designed to engage members of our community who are passionate about education, seek a deeper understanding of issues facing our schools, and want to become informed advocates for education and students in our community.

This program has been honored on both the state and national level for its effectiveness in giving community members tools to understand complex issues surrounding education and to advocate for students and schools. Other school systems in Alabama and beyond have created similar programs, modeled after TCSS U.

Applications for the 2026-2027 TCSS U cohort are now being accepted. Applications will be accepted until Friday, September 4, at 4 p.m.
