Five Years of Local Investment in Bullhead City’s Water System

Five years ago, the City of Bullhead City took responsibility for operating the community’s water system. Since then, the City has been focused on one goal: making responsible, long-term investments in a safe and reliable water system that serves Bullhead City residents and businesses today and well into the future.

Over the past five years, the City has invested millions of dollars in wells, fire hydrants, valves, water mains, system monitoring, maintenance, and many other infrastructure improvements. Investing in water infrastructure is about more than replacing aging equipment or repairing a water line. It is about preparing for the future. The City has also developed a long-term master plan to help prioritize future improvements, strengthen reliability and resiliency, and responsibly manage our community’s water resources.

For the first time in our community’s history, Bullhead City has developed a comprehensive Water Master Plan. This long-term plan provides a roadmap for identifying, prioritizing, and planning future improvements based on the condition and needs of the system, anticipated community growth, reliability, resiliency, and responsible management of our water resources.

Taking local responsibility for the system allows Bullhead City to make decisions based on the needs of our residents, property owners, businesses, and community. Those decisions are made right here at home in Bullhead City. Local control helps provide greater local control over future investments and helps protect local customers from being directly impacted by statewide utility rate decisions authorized by the Arizona Corporation Commission.

The City recognizes and knows there is still work to be done. Water infrastructure requires ongoing maintenance, investment, and planning, and the City remains committed to preparing for future growth and the needs of our community.

Five years after the purchase from EPCOR and its sole shareholder, the City of Edmonton, Bullhead City is continuing to invest locally, plan responsibly, and build a stronger water system for the generations to come.

Local control. Local decision-making. Local Water.

Bullhead City continues to invest today for a bright water future.

🚧 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗽 𝗔𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 👷

Bullhead City’s business community continues to grow, with construction moving forward on several new additions around town.

Residents traveling near Target may have already noticed the walls going up on a new Filiberto’s along Frontage Road near Mattress Firm. A short distance away, Wild Coffee’s new building is also taking shape along North Avenue. Farther north, Wally Wombats has installed its bright new signage as work continues on the family entertainment center at 2135 Highway 95.

From new places to eat and grab a coffee to more family entertainment, these businesses will give residents and visitors even more to enjoy around town. Their development reflects continued private investment in our community and confidence in Bullhead City’s growth and local economy.

Bullhead City Honored with Housing Hero Award for Community Impact 🏆

The Arizona Department of Housing recently honored the City of Bullhead City with a Housing Hero Award for the Bullhead Regional Food Bank Expansion project.

The expansion represents an important investment in Bullhead City, increasing the community’s capacity to provide essential resources while supporting the needs of residents and families throughout the region.

This recognition highlights the impact of strong partnerships and thoughtful community development. The City is honored to receive this award and grateful to everyone who helped make the Bullhead Regional Food Bank Expansion possible. Congratulations to all involved, and thank you for helping make Bullhead City a stronger community! 💙

The Bullhead City Morning Kiwanis Club is making a big splash for local kids! 🏊‍♂️

The Bullhead City Morning Kiwanis Club recently presented a check for $12,980 to the City of Bullhead City, accepted by Mayor Karen Dallman during the September 1st Bullhead City Council Meeting to help pay for swimming lessons for children in our community.

"It's my pleasure to accept this check from The Morning Kiwanis Club," Said Mayor Karen Dallman during the Meeting. "what you guys do is an amazing thing and kudos to the Lifeguards, you help save those children's lives and we appreciate everything you do."

Every year the Bullhead City Morning Kiwanis Club Sponsors swims lessons provided by Bullhead City Lifeguards for swimmers' Levels 1 & 2.

This generous donation helps give kids the opportunity to learn essential swimming skills, build confidence in the water, and enjoy one of the Colorado River area's favorite activities safely.

Community organizations like the Bullhead City Morning Kiwanis Club are a force multiplier for the City, allowing us to expand programs and provide opportunities that make a real difference for local families.

The Bullhead City Council will convene on September 1st, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. for a regularly scheduled meeting. The meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers located at 1255 Marina Blvd.

Reminder: The Council meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. for regular meetings.

Listen to the History of Bullhead City’s Police Department, directly from the people who lived it!

The Bullhead City Police Department has an incredibly rich and unique history that stretches back to before the City was incorporated in 1984. Beginning with a small group of dedicated individuals who were motivated by the desire to create a safe place for the community to live. A few of those individuals agreed to sit down with us during the Summer of 2024 to share their memories of how the Bullhead City Police Department has grown over the years. We're now sharing those stories with you.
