Well, this is definitely a first for us here in Bullville! Now we've had many members, past and current, serve our country within the US Military, however...

We want to our extend our gratitude and say good luck to one of our own. One of our interior firefighters, Stephen, is taking off on his next journey in life and starting his career with the US Military, specifically the Space Force!

Stephen has shown tremendous dedication towards his community. Coming in with no fire experience, he was determined to create the best version of himself here and he did exactly that. There's no doubt that he will take that same energy, and put that dedication now towards the entire country.

From your fire family, we are proud of you! We wish you the best of luck with your military career, and your future endeavors. We will see you soon again, but for now, show them what Bullville's made of!

Yesterday, we responded to 2 different calls for service.

Early in the morning during the busy commute, we responded to a tractor trailer that hit a telephone pole. Wires were across the roadway with a transformer down, which prompted us to shut 17K down with the help of Crawford PD. No injuries were reported, and with the quick response from O&R and the State DOT, the roadway was cleaned up and the pole/wires were repaired.

Later in the afternoon, we were requested for our engine to stand by in the Washington Heights Firehouse while they were operating at a 2nd alarm structure fire. 57-2 and E252 provided coverage for them while they were out.

Looking to volunteer and serve your local community? Want to get on a fire truck and respond to all different types of calls and get to use some pretty neat tools? Want to wear a cool looking helmet? Stop on down to our firehouse, we are there every Monday for drills/meetings at 7PM. Not in our district? Visit and inquire with your local fire department!

Today marks the 25th Anniversary of 9/11. A tragic day in our nation's history where The Twin Towers and The Pentagon were struck with hijacked aircraft, and another hijacked aircraft crashed in a field in Shanksville, PA.

Many of our citizens had perished on this day, including everyday civilians, firefighter, police, EMS, and so many more walks of life.

May we never forget what happened on this day, and always hold them in our memories. Rest In Peace to all of those who have perished. For those who ran towards the scenes to help our neighbors, thank you for your selfless acts. You are never forgotten.

Never Forget.

🚨 REMINDER - ORANGE COUNTY EMERGENCY EXERCISE TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

Tomorrow, Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus and the Orange County Department of Emergency Services will conduct a large-scale emergency exercise simulating a significant flooding event across Orange County.

⚠️THIS IS ONLY A TEST.
County departments and emergency response partners working together in the Emergency Operations Center will be on hand to test how we coordinate, communicate, manage resources, and respond during a major emergency.

📱 Residents may also receive a TEST emergency alert as part of the exercise.

Orange County will be testing its Countywide Emergency Alert System during the exercise. Compatible mobile devices within the targeted area may automatically receive the test message - no registration is required.

⚠️ If you receive an emergency alert on September 9 as part of this exercise, THIS IS ONLY A TEST. There is no emergency, and no action is required.

September is National Emergency Preparedness Month, making it the perfect time to test the systems, plans, and partnerships we rely on when a real emergency happens.
