Morning everyone!

Today starts the day of NYS shutting down a portion of 17K. This shut down will be from Union School Road to Old State Route 17K.

They are replacing a culvert pipe that requires the whole roadway to be excavated.

This shut down is slated to be completed in approximately 2 months time. While this is taking place, please follow the detours to get around and back onto 17K. No traffic will be allowed through the portion mentioned above.

As for emergency response, a plan is set in place with a neighboring department to have them respond with us for the other side of 17K thats in our district, as we will have to follow the detour ourselves.

Thank you for your patience with this, and we will provide updates as they come in!

Today, Memorial Day, is a day of remembrance for those who sacrificed their lives for our country.

Those brave men and women who put their lives ahead of everyone else, to ensure that we have the freedoms that we have today.

While everyone is kicing back, BBQ'ing and enjoying the nice weather, please remember what this day is about;

It's about the ultimate sacrifice.
It's about our military members who perished, defending this great nation.
It's the pride, loyalty, and honor that is shown for the United States
It's about the freedoms we have today because of those brave men and women.

This week is National EMS Week, and here in the Town of Crawford we have the Pine Bush Volunteer Ambulance Corps directly serving our community.

Whether it's a motor vehicle accident at night, someone isn't feeling well at home, or a structure fire stand by during the day, Pine Bush is there when we need them! They have an amazing crew that is always at the ready to handle the calls that are sent their way.

To Pine Bush, all the agencies out there that run in conjuction with them, and for all the EMS agencies around, we thank you for the job you guys do. Its a huge commitment to be a part of the emergency medical field, and providing pre-hospital care. It's a tough job to do, but their dedication speaks volumes!

This week is National Police Week and we want to send a huge shout out and thank you to those that we have the privilege of working with.

When we aren't working directly with them, they are constantly out patolling, responding to numerous calls for service, protecting and ensuring the safety of our community and its citizens.

To the Crawford PD, Orange County Sheriff's Office, New York, and the New York State Police Troop F, thank you for all that you do! It never goes unnoticed!

For all of those who worked in law enforcement, thank you for the service you provided. And a special thank you to the law enforcement officers that we have in our very own firehouse!

Today our members went to the Orange County Fire Training Center with members from Bullville, Coldenham, Maybrook, Montgomery, and 36-12 for live fire training. In just a few hours we were able to complete five different fire evolutions to simulate working at a structure fire. A big thank you to the staff at the training center for letting us come and to Town of Montgomery Ambulance for standing by on site in case we needed anything.

Its been a busy 24 hours for our members here in Bullville.

On 5/2 at approximately 1700 hours, our Engine 252 and Utility 253 took a trip down to the New City Fire Department in Rockland County to stand by for them while they attended their annual dinner. While standing by, the crew responded to an automatic alarm. The crew came back home around 0130 on the 3rd.

While this crew was in Rockland, Bullville was dispatched to a Rollover Motor Vehicle Accident. A second crew, alongside 57C1 responded to the accident. A medivac was requested and landed in the near by field to transport the patient to the appropriate hospital for care. Units were clear shortly after.

Then, on the morning of 5/3, several of our members attended a Live Burn drill at the Orange County Fire Training Center, which was hosted by our own Battalion 2. We had a great showing for the burn, and an overall amazing Battalion 2 turnout for the drill.

Great job to everyone who was involved. It's amazing to see our fire service family come together and train, respond, and help one another when we need it! For those that responded and helped us with the rollover, from EMS and the medivac, to PD, to a neighboring FD for road closure, we are always greatly appreciative of the assistance!

Always love attending and helping with these drills with our extended family here in the Town of Crawford.

We hope that this display shows what can happen if you drive under the influence. It's not meant to scare anyone, it's meant to show the reality of one's actions and the consequences of it.

Thank you to everyone involved, and to the PBHS Class that was watching us, stay safe, dont drink and drive, and always arrive alive!

We want to say thank you and Happy National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week to our extended family, our Orange County 911 Dispatchers.

Their job is a crucial part in the emergency services world, and to the public. Often never seen, but they are always heard and always at the ready for whatever call comes their way.

Thank you for all that you do, it does not go unnoticed, and we wouldn't be able to perform our jobs without you!

Not something you see everyday in our house!

The Orange County HazMat Team backed their rigs, 36-200 and 36-201, into our firehouse and spoke to us about HazMat, the different scenes they have operated on, and then gave us a tour of their apparatus, tools, and the capabilities they have.

We're greatful to have this team, the opportunity to check out the rigs, and get to talk to the crew that came down. Nothing but a wealth of knowledge!

Big thank you to the HazMat Coordinator 36-10, and his crew that came down. It's eye opening to see what goes into their operations, and the technology they utilize!

Friendly reminder that tomorrow starts our Annual Burn Ban here in NYS. Orange County DES put together this poster to show what is, and what isn't allowed.

Please make sure to abide by these rules. These rules are regulated and enforced by the Department of Environmental Conservation.

As always, dial 911 for any emergency!

Tomorrow, March 16th, the annual burn ban goes into effect across New York State to help prevent wildfires during the high-risk spring season. Open burning of brush and debris is prohibited from through May 14. These temporary restrictions help protect our communities, first responders, and natural resources by reducing the risk of rapidly spreading brush fires.

For detailed information regarding the contents of the burn ban, visit https://dec.ny.gov/environmental-protection/air-quality/open-burning.

Stay safe and help keep Orange County wildfire-free this Spring.
