🎓 **Graduate Spotlight: Congratulations, E. Luther!** 🚑

We are proud to recognize E. Luther for an incredible achievement! After joining the squad as a junior, she successfully completed this year's EMT course and passed the NREMT—all before graduating from high school.

Throughout her time with us, she has demonstrated outstanding motivation, a positive attitude, and a willingness to help others. These qualities have contributed greatly to her success, and we are grateful to have had her as part of our squad family.

This fall, E. will begin an exciting new chapter as she starts college. We wish her continued success in all that lies ahead!

**Her advice for anyone considering the EMT course:**
*"Treat EMT class like an adventure—the sort that is brutally challenging, but the joy of discovery and the awesome fellow adventurers make every step worth it!"*

Congratulations, E.! Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance are inspiring. We can't wait to see all that you accomplish in the future. 🎉👏🚑

Another graduate announcement! 🎓🚑🔥
M. Bryant has successfully completed her NREMT and Firefighter I certifications just in time for high school graduation! Her time with the squad began as a junior member, and we’re so excited to soon have her serving as a provider.
Her advice to anyone considering the NREMT course:
“It’s only temporary, and the reward afterward is absolutely worth it.”
We are so proud of all she has accomplished and can’t wait to watch her achieve even greater things in the future. Congratulations, young lady! 👏Louisa County Department of Fire/EMS Co. 5 Locust Creek Volunteer Fire Department

🎓🎉 Congratulations to our first NREMT graduate from the 2026 EMT class!
H. Knoebel has been part of Holly Grove’s junior program for several years. He successfully completed the EMT course and earned his NREMT certification just in time to graduate from high school.
His advice to anyone considering the EMT course:
“Just take one step at a time, and the reward is worth it. Don’t wait until you’re no longer scared — just go for it anyway.”
We are proud of your hard work and dedication, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for you!

Winter Storm Fern is behind us, and thankfully electricity providers in the County are showing no meters without service as of this morning. With no long-lasting power outages reported, residents were able to remain safely indoors and off the roads during the storm. We continue to monitor the need for a potential shelter as well as road conditions, and encourage citizens to minimize travel while VDOT continues clearing efforts. Temperatures will remain cold this week - please be safe and stay warm. County staff is also closely monitoring the storm forecast for this upcoming weekend and will share updates as needed.
