Vidor author Deanna Brewer donated two children’s books in her “Fat Cat” series to the Vidor Public Library on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
"Fat Cat the School Bus Sneak #1" follows Fat Cat as he chases away sneaky trespassers while keeping his family safe and happy. As part of his important cat duties, Fat Cat diligently patrols his territory and protects those he loves.
"Fat Cat Falls In Love #2" is another exciting chapter-book adventure featuring Fat Cat. Along with his usual responsibilities of patrolling his territory, he embarks on extraordinary adventures and discovers the joys of friendship.

The Orange Public Library is excited to share that the library has received a generous $4,900 grant from the Foundation For Southeast Texas.

These funds have been designated to enhance our Young Adult and Children's areas by adding select new furniture pieces and expanding access to digital content through the Libby and Hoopla apps.

We are thankful for the Foundation's support of our library and our community. Their investment will help us continue providing welcoming spaces and valuable resources for readers and visitors of all ages.
