Update! They were raining out today. Going to try again tomorrow, Friday, Aug 7th. ⚠️⚠️Sorry for such short notice but the village will be having some areas of the roads throughout town oil and chipped tomorrow, Aug 6th. ⚠️⚠️

We are mourning the loss of another long standing resident of Buncombe, Jerry Billingsley.

His commitment and friendship will be remembered and appreciated by us all.

We also extend condolences to the entire family, friends, and loved ones, we ask the community to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficulty time.

We are mourning the loss of another long standing, wise, beautiful pillar of our community, Dolly Hopkins.

Dolly was a dedicated public servant who cared deeply about the community and our volunteer fire department. She donated her time as well as financially to assist in any way.

Her service, commitment, and friendship will be remembered and appreciated by all of us. Her contributions to the village will not be forgotten and she will be greatly missed.

We also extend condolences to the entire family, friends, and loved ones, we ask the community to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficulty time.

Introducing our new neighborhood book library. 📖 📕 It’s located on Main Street. It doesn’t have any books 📚 yet but that’s where you come in. If you have extras to share please drop them off. We hope to start a book sharing opportunity for residents of all ages.

Youth basketball 🏀 camp

2026 Vienna Eagles Basketball Youth Camp

The Vienna Eagles Basketball Youth Camp will be held July 20-22 at Vienna Grade School.

The camp is open to students from Buncombe, Cypress, Dongola, Goreville, New Simpson Hill, and Vienna Grade based on their 2026-2027 school year grade level and will focus on basketball fundamentals, skill development, and competitive games.
Participants will also have the opportunity to work alongside Vienna High School basketball players throughout the camp.

Camp Schedule
9:00-10:30 a.m. – Students entering 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. – Students entering 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade

Registration Fee: $35 per participant
Includes a camp T-shirt.
