AIR SHOW TRAFFIC & PARKING ADVISORY ✈️
A strong turnout is expected for this year’s air show at Grissom, and traffic and parking demand are expected to reach or exceed capacity. Visitors and motorists traveling through the area should plan ahead and expect significant traffic delays, particularly during peak arrival and departure times.
If you are attending the air show and driving to Grissom, you must have a valid parking pass to enter event parking areas.
Approximately 7,000 parking passes were made available for each day based on the capacity of surrounding roadways, parking areas, entrances, security screening areas and pedestrian routes.
If you do not have a parking pass, please do not drive to the base expecting to park. Attendees without a parking pass may consider being dropped off, biking or walking to the designated entrance. Please expect additional walking and wait times when using alternative options.
Parking and gates open at 9:00 a.m. Please have your parking pass ready, follow the arrival instructions provided with your pass and allow extra time to reach the event.
Not attending the air show? If you’re traveling through the Grissom area, expect increased traffic and delays due to limited roadway access and the number of vehicles arriving for the event. If possible, consider an alternate route or avoid the immediate area during peak traffic periods.
Your patience and cooperation will help keep traffic moving safely and efficiently for air show guests, area residents and those traveling through the community.
Plan ahead. Bring your parking pass. Allow extra time. And expect delays.
