🐾 Giving Back to Our Community! 🐾

Today, Tax Collector Shelly Edmonson, along with members of her team, proudly presented a donation of $2,265.34 to SMART - Saving Missing Animals Response Team of Flagler County!

SMART is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs in need, working to create a compassionate community where every at-risk dog has the opportunity to find a safe and loving home.

We also had some very special four-legged visitors! 🐶 Duke stopped by and proudly received his very own driver's license! And he wasn't the only one—Shelly the Rescue got her driver's license, too! 🪪🐾

Shelly Edmonson, Flagler County Tax Collector, Chief Deputy Renee Flynt, and Tax Collector Team Member Regan Hansen were proud to attend today’s AdventHealth Palm Coast Foundation “Delivering Excellence” Luncheon.

The event brought together more than 100 community members to see firsthand how their support is making a meaningful impact—helping local nurses advance professionally through education and certification while also preparing hospital teams to respond confidently to medical emergencies they may rarely encounter.

The luncheon highlighted two important areas of investment: nursing education and certification and the purchase of an advanced maternal simulation mannequin, which will provide hands-on training for unexpected deliveries and obstetric emergencies at AdventHealth’s Flagler County hospitals.

We’re proud to support the people and organizations working every day to strengthen the community we all call home.

We are part of this community—delivering state services at the local level and supporting the people who make Flagler County stronger. 💙

Tonight was a special reminder that we don’t just work in this community—we are part of this community. 💙🐢🌊

Tax Collector Shelly Edmonson and several members of the Flagler County Tax Collector’s Office joined the Sea Turtle Nest Clean Out at Beverly Beach, where our office proudly adopted Nest FB219, located behind Beverly Beach City Hall.

And what a nest it was! 103 eggs hatched! 🐢

During tonight’s clean out, two little sea turtles were found and assisted. One was strong enough to be released and swam out into the ocean tonight. 🌊🐢 The other needed some additional help and will continue to receive care until it is strong enough for its own release.

We also brought along some “Helping Sea Turtles Survive” specialty license plates to help spread the word about another way Floridians can support sea turtle conservation.

Being your Tax Collector’s Office means more to us than providing services—it means showing up, getting involved, and supporting the people, places, and wildlife that make Flagler County so special.

Tonight, that meant gathering together on our beautiful coastline and cheering on one very determined little turtle as it made its way home. 💙
