I would like to address this person.

No—“man” doesn’t apply here.

If you are going to put on a Marine Corps uniform, at least take the time to understand what you are wearing. Wearing a Marine Corps belt buckle upside down, displaying ribbons and badges you did not—and could not—have earned, and then showing up on a Marine Corps page with a “just wanted to introduce myself” post is beyond embarrassing.

Did you really think it would take any of us more than a tenth of a second to recognize that something was seriously wrong?

Marines notice details. We know our uniforms. We know our ribbons, badges, insignia, and traditions.

You don't simply put on the uniform and become a Marine.

There is a history, a standard, and an earned right behind that uniform. For those of us who actually wore it, served in it, and earned what is displayed on it, seeing someone falsely presenting themselves this way is deeply disrespectful.
